I can’t wait for Halloween this year. I was really bummed at first, because the prime Halloween weekend (just before Halloween, since it’s on a Monday for some stupid reason, sheesh!) was going to be the same weekend as the convention my old company puts on every year. It’s a grueling weekend of work, starting very very early in the morning and ending quite late at night, and I was going to have to be there instead of partying with my friends. Of course, then the new job happened and now I will be free as a bird that weekend to dress up and party on down.
Last year was a lot of fun…my friends love Halloween and did it up right proper for the occasion. Shawn and I dressed as punk rock Hogwarts students (we didn’t want to just be plain Hogwarts students), which was really just an excuse for me to wear my knee high combat boots and ripped fishnets. I will be pulling out the combat boots again this year, I believe. I already have most of the components of my costume…all I need to get are some black leather gloves, a black t-shirt, a black pleather jacket, and a cheap belt. Then, with the wonders of my craftiness and some gold paint…voila! I will have my costume. I’m going as a superheroine, one of many that will be represented at the party this year, because my friends? Are all geeks. And I LOVE IT.
Bring on the party! I’m ready.
