the comforts of home

It never fails…every Saturday after the bars close at 2 AM, I can hear the Dallas Police helicopter doing a low sweep, looking for some drunk idiot.

I noticed it a lot when I first moved in here. It made me nervous. It made me think that I lived in an unsafe neighborhood (which is both true and not true). Now I hardly notice it at all. For all my night owl tendencies, I haven’t been staying up late like I usually do on the weekends. But, here I sit tonight, fresh from dancing and a trip to Denny’s, and the trusty DPD helicopter is making the usual Saturday night fly-over. Hope they catch the drunk idiot.

Nice to know some things never change.
